Abdullah Ibn Hudhafah As-Sahmy: A Brave Postman
Today, i will discuss about an postman at era of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam. He is a brave postman, and he faced King Of Persia and Byzantine Emperor without fear for deliver Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s message.

Abdullah Ibn Hudzafah, is one from
Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba . Historian Abdurrahman
Rafat Basya, doesnt write about his young time. But, known, he is one of
Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s messenger who sent to Khosrow II,
King Of Persia. At 7 TH years of Hijriyya, Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi
Wasallam sent letter to Khosrow II, the content from the letter is
Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s messages for Khosrow to convert to
Islam. Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam sent Abdullah Ibn Hudhafah
As-Sahmy as Postman for sent letter to Khosrow II.
Abdullah went to Empire Of Persia,
he take leave with his wife and child
for went. Abdullah Ibn Hudhafah meet with Khosrow II to deliver Rasulullah Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam s letter. Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s
letter in Arabic translated to Khosrow II by Khosrow II s secretary who Arabian
from Hirah. Khosrow II so angry and he tear this letter. Khosrow II drive out
Abdullah Ibn Hudhafah from his palace.
Khosrow II command Badhan, Persian
Governor at Yemen to sent two soldier for captured Propeth Muhammad Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam. Two Persian Soldier came to Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi
Wasallam and ask him to faced Khosrow II. Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi
Wasallam only ask two Persian Soldier back and meet him tomorrow.
At 2 February 628 AD, broke
rebellion at Empire Of Persia. Khosrow II s son, Shiroyeh, with Persian
Governor at Syria, General Shahr Varaz and several Armenian Commander rebel and
captured Khosrow II. Khosrow II entered jail undergrown and Shiroyeh became
King Of Persia with title King Kavadh II.
Allah tell it to Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and
Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam tell it to Two Persian Soldier. Two soldier also tell it to Badhan. Badhan
convert to Islam, and followed by Persian at Yemen.
At 9 TH Hijriyya, Abdullah Ibn
Hudhafa joined Muslim Army that fight at Byzantine Territories. And, Abdullah
became hostage from Byzantine Army. Byzantine Army bring Abdullah to Byzantine
Emperor, Heraclius. Emperor Heraclius forced Abdullah for convert to Christian,
and intimidate Abdullah that he will kill him if Abdullah dont convert to
Christian Religion. Abdullah reject it and Heraclius burn several Muslim
Hostages in front of Abdullah for scary him. Abdullah firm and he doesnt fear
with this brutal punishment.Emperor Heraclius liberate Abdullah and several
Muslim Hostages and he can back to Medina and faced Caliph Umar Ibn Khattab.
It is story from brave postman.
Although he only postman, but he brave deliver truth to big ruler, such as
Persian Emperor. We, as Muslim, also like this. We must deliver truth, whatever
our job.
