Thariq Ibn Ziyad: Berber General Who Became Conqueror Of Spain.

Today, we will discuss about Thariq Ibn Ziyad, Umayyad General from Tribes Of Berber, who became Conqueror Of Spain at Era Of Umayyad Dynasty. His service at Conquest Of Spain, and spread Islam at Europe, is one his prestation when he became general at Umayyad Dynasty. How this Berberian became Umayyad Dynasty General and how he can conquer Spain and Portugal for Umayyad Dynasty? Thariq Ibn Ziyad, according Palestinian Historian Jihad Turbani, in his early life is Berberian, native of North Africa, who has European Blood and he is Paganist. He convert to Islam because preach that bring by Arabians. Thariq became Muslims and he preach to Tribes Of Berber to convert to Islam. He became Regent Of Tangier under Umayyad Dynasty. Muslim Historian Ibn Kathir, has argument that Thariq , at his  early life is slave from Musa Ibn Nushayr, Umayyad Governor at  North Africa.  According Muslim Historian Baladhuri, Musa Ibn Nushayr became Umayyad Governor at North Africa at 89 H. Musa Ibn Nushayr, make Thariq as Umayyad Regent at Tangier, after conquer this city.  Thariq, also became Umayyad General.

At 711 AD,  when Spain ruled by Kingdom Of Visigoth under this king, Roderick,  who popular as cruel king .Julian,Byzantine Governor at Ceuta, a port at East Tangier send his daughter to studied at Spain and Roderick doing sexual harrased to his daughter until his daughter pregnant. Julian angry and he ask helped to Umayyad Dynasty for attack Spain  and destroy Roderick s Goverment.  According Baladhuri, Julian ( Baladhuri call him Aliyan) meet Thariq and ask Thariq to attack Spain and he will prepared ships for Thariq and his army. Thariq received Julian  s plan and he prepare Plan for attack Spain and ousted Roderick.  At April 711 AD, Thariq bring his army to attack Spain with several ships that prepared by Julian. Thariq can occupied Green Island,  Port Of Algeciras, near Spain Terrain, that included Roderick s Goverment.  Roderick at this time, doing military operaton at North Spain, at Basque.  Thariq bring 12.000 warriors. Place when Thariq landed at Spain, now called by Giblartar , from Arabic Verbs Jabal Thariq ( Mountain Of Thariq)

Roderick bring 25.000 warriors, according Historian Philip.K.Hitti  for attack Umayyad Army under Thariq Ibn Ziyad.  According Historian Jihad Turbani, Roderick bring 100.000 warriors.  Battle broke at Month Of Barbate at 711 AD. Battle broke for 8 days and Visigoth Army defeated. Roderick killed at this battle.  Thariq also send his general, Mughits to conquer City Of Cordova.  Thariq can conquer Cordova and Toledo and  at 712 AD, Musa Ibn Nushayr went to Spain to help Thariq and can conquer Lerida,Barcelona, and Narbonne.  About this Early Muslim Historians, such as Ibn Kathir and Al-Baladhuri, only tell it with short paragraph. Ibn Kathir only give notes that at 92 H, Thariq Ibn Ziyad,  former slave from Musa Ibn Nushayr attack Andalusia ( Spain and Portugal) with 12.000 warriors and defeat Roderick, but he doesnt tell who Roderick and from where Roderick came.  Baladhuri said Roderick originated from Ashban, but doesnt explain where this place.  According Jihad Turbani, Visigoth Nations came from North Europe. What Ashban is one ancient city at North Europe  according Arabian Tongue? And what original name from this place? We not yet get data about this.

Not written many data about last life age from Thariq Ibn Ziyad. But, according several sources, such as Historian Zahrotun Nafisah, Thariq die at Damascus, Umayyad Capital City at 720 AD. He has big role at Islamic Preaching at Europe.
