History.
At
622 AD, Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam moved from Mecca to
Medina for build Islamic Society Community. Because, at Mecca, Propeth Muhammad
Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and his follower get bad treatment from Pagan
Quraish at Mecca. Imam Al-Bukhari, an
Hadith Scholar at his book, Al-Maghazi tell that Pagan Quraish at Mecca send letter
to Pagan Leader at Medina, Abdullah Ibn Ubay , ask Abdullah Ibn Ubay to drive
out Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
Pagan
Quraish also send messenger to Muslim Community that Quraish will attack Medina
with big army and destroy City Of Medina.
Imam Al-Bukhari at his book, Kitab Al-Jihad illustrated about
this situation, many Muslims at Medina cannot sleep and Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam also
cannot sleep. He and his shahaba vigil
at City Of Medina. Muslims vigil at City
Of Medina with weapons. It is illustrated not secure situation at Citu Of
Medina.
Allah
Subhanahuwataala, revealed to Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi
Wasallam QS.Al-Hajj: 39 that contained
command to resistance Muslim s selfs from strikers. Pagan Quraish also rob
Muslims s assets. At 2 TH Years Of Hijriyya, Rasulullah Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam lead his army to attack Quraish Army and their ally, Bani
Dhamrah. But, Bani Dhamrah held peace covenant with Rasulullah Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam. Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam held several military expedition to attack
Quraish Army. But, not broke confrontation. Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi
Wasallam held peace with several Arabian Tribes , inclueded Bani Dhamrah
and Bani Mudlij. At Month Of Jumadil Akhir,
Kurz Ibn Jabir Al-Fihri, an Quraish Commander attack place of grazing at Medina. Propeth Muhammad Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam tried to chase Kurz, but Kurz escaped and Propeth Muhammad Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam plan two expedition to attack Quraish Caravan. One expedition, handled by
Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam and this expedition named Battle Of
Badr.
Expedition
before Battle Of Badr at 623 AD, lead by Abdullah Ibn Jahsh. And this factor is
Quraish Army entered territories around
Medina and kidnapped weak peoples. At 624 AD, Quraish People make a plan for
attack Medina and Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam went with his army
to prevent Quraish s plan. According
Historian Juan Cole, if seeing Covenant
Of Medina that require all People Of
Medina defend the city at war situation, Muslims Army also helped by a small
part from Medina s Jews and Christian Arabian Tribes from Bani Jafna. Rasulullah Shallahu
Alaihi Wasallam command his shahaba to attack Quraish Caravan. According my
analyze, it is for warning to Quraish Pagan because they tried attack Medina
and rob this city. Quraish Pagan send army to save his caravan and it is factor
from the Battle Of Badr. And, fix, Battle Of Badr not robbery action that deliberate doing by Muslims for get wealth,
such as claimed by several Islamic Haters.
At next article, we will discuss about Battle Of Badr and how this battle
run.
