Umar Ibn Khattab S Strategy To Handle Pandemic.

This side, maybe not discussed at many Islamic History forum. Today, i will discuss it, how Umar Ibn Khattab handle Pandemic at Syria and Palestine, and around this. Maybe, we most popular to Umar Ibn Khattab because he succeded  conquer Syria and Palestine from Byzantine Empire. At 18 TH years of Hijriyya, after Muslim Conquest Syria and Palestine, and this pandemic flow at Syria and Palestine. According Historian Ibn Kathir, this pandemic named Thaun Amwas, because this pandemic came from small city named Amwas- a small city beetwen Ramlah- Capital Of Modern Palestine, and Jerusalem. According Historian Al-Waqidi, Thaun Amwas kill 25.000 peoples.

According Historian Ibn Jarir At-Thabari, this pandemic was started when Umar Ibn Khattab went to Palestine for lead his army who fight againt Byzantine Army. Muslims Commander tell Caliph Umar Ibn Khattab that Palestine attacked by pandemic.

Thaun Amawas also flow to Jordania and situation  was danger. Several shahaba die such as Al-Harith Ibn Hisham, Syurahbil Ibn Hasanah, Abu Jandal Ibn Suhail, Abu Ubaidah, and Abu Malik Al-Asyari.

At same time, Caliph Umar Ibn Khattab also send several shahaba to became Quran Teacher at Syria. They are Muadh Ibn Jabal, Ubadah Ibn As-Shamit, and Abu Ayyub Al-Anshari, also Ubay Ibn Kaab and Abu Darda. At this time, many Syrian People are converts and not yet read Quran-Islamic Holy Book. Abu Darda became Quran Teacher at Damascus, he teach Al-Quran and Islamic Religion for People Of Damascus.

Muadh Ibn Jabal die because pandemic at Syria, Palestine, and around this. Umar Ibn Khattab send letter to Abu Ubaidah, that became Governor Of Syria, to bring Syrian and Palestinian People to Highland that have clean air. But, Abu Ubaidah die because this pandemics. Abu Ubaidah dying because this pandemics. Abu Ubaidah call Abu Musa and ask him to do this.

Abu Musa bring Civilian at Palestine and Syria to highland that have clean air. Abu Musa bring them at Jabiyah- a highland at Jerusalem. This pandemic can ended, small by small.

From this story, we can learn. Umar Ibn  Khattab so priority healthy enviroment and hygiene for method build a healthy enviroment. We, as Muslims must became like this. Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam said that Allah love hygiene and he command us to clean our place  ( Book Of Tirmidhi). We can start to life hygiene from our houses and our residence.
