Abdullah Ibn Salam, originally named Al-Hushain Ibn Salam. He life at 7 TH BC Century, and Al-Hushain is Jews Rabbi at Medina before Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s came to Medina. Al-Hushain popular because his understanding about Torah, a holy book for Jews that derived Allah  Subhanahuwataala to Propeth Musa Alaihissalam.

Abdullah Ibn Salam is not Arabian, he is Israeli from descedant of Propeth Yusuf Alaihissalam. His title is Abu Yusuf Al-Israili. He is Rabbi for one  Jews Tribe at Medina, Bani Qainuqa.

At Book Of Torah, Al-Hushain find information about rise of last propeth from Mecca.  When Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam  moved from Mecca to Medina, Al-Hushain know it is propeth who foretold at Book Of Torah.

Al-Hushain came to Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam when Rasulullah  Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam  give lecture to people, and he amazed with Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s teaching.  Al-Hushain convert to Islam, and Propeth Muhammad Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s give him new name: Abdullah ( servant of Allah). Since this day, he popular as Abdullah Ibn Salam.

One day, Abdullah Ibn Salam persuated Jews at Medina to convert to Islam, but they rejected it and denounced Abdullah Ibn Salam.

Abdullah has big role at narration at Hadith ( Rasululllah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s quotes/ statement that became second manual book for Muslims). He narrated 25 Hadiths and along Rasululllah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam still alife, he studied Al-Quran under supervision of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

He get paradise guarantee from Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam when he still alife, and at his old time, he became Islamic Teacher at Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s mosque at City Of Medina.

Story Of Abdullah Ibn Salam is lesson for us. Not exist word ‘late’ for studied Islam. Abdullah Ibn Salam not Muslim since born, he convert to Islam when he adult, but he has spirit to learn Islam until became one of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s shahaba who get paradise guarantee. And, Al-Quran not only easy for Arabian. Many Non Arabs memorized and understanding Al-Quran. Abdullah Ibn Salam is not Arabian, he is Israeli who use Hebrew as daily language, but with his hardwork, he can understanded Al-Quran and became teacher at Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s mosque.

 

We also must have spirit to studied Islam. And, now, studied Islam is not hard. We can came to several Islamic Studies at mosque, musala,or only hear it from Youtube.  For who feel late to studied Islam, example because old age, studied Islam before Allah call you, and not exist word late for studied Islam.
