Selim I: Ottoman Sultan Who Save Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s Tomb.

Selim I, maybe doesnt popular at History Of Ottoman, maybe Mehmed II Al-Fatih most popular sultan from Ottoman Dynasty, or maybe Sulaiman Al-Qanuni who conquer 3 continent at his goverment. But, at this day, i will discuss about Ottoman Sultan who  save Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s tomb from raids of Portuguese Army who have plan attack Jerusalem and found Crusader Kingdom at Palestine.

One Of Portuguese Sailor, Vasco Da Gama, tried invaded Mecca and Medina. At his expedition, he  destroy 300 mosques at East Africa. And, he also burn a ship that bring many Muslim Civilians, and also  drown pilgrim s ship.  He also burn several ships that bring rice from India.

He is Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan, and he ruled from 1512-1520 AD. He is Grandson  from Sultan Muhammad Al-Fatih, Conqueror Of Constantinople.  At his era, Islamic World Trapped to hard situation. At 1492 AD, Portuguese start discovery at the sea and they have a plan for captured Mecca and Jerusalem.  Salim I, who is son from  Sultan Bayezid II Veli  Of Ottoman, at the begin was Governor at Rumelia  ( Turkish Part at Europe).

Selim I became Ottoman Sultan at 1512 AD, after kill his two brother with cunning. The two brother are Ahmed and Korkut. According Historian Mehmet Maksudoglu, Selim II , really, doesnt has  a plan for kill his brother, but he forced kill them, because they have a plan for provocate Safavid Dynasty Of Iran, and Mameluke Dynasty at Egypt for attack State Of Ottoman.

Safavid King Of Iran, Shah Ismail, conspirated with Portuguese Army to attack  Syria. According Historian Jihad Turbani, Portuguese Commander, Alfonso D Alburqueque, has a plan for steal Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s tomb.  At 1514 AD, Selim I  went to Iran for attack Shah Ismail.  He bring 100.000 army. Shah Ismail retreat with his army, and Ottoman Army chased them for two month, but dont find Safavid Army.  Ottoman Elite Army, Janissary, bored and they feel frustation because hard to find enemy.  Selim I orated in front of his army, and he confirmed the  the purpose of Ottoman Dynasty is jihad at Allah s way.  Thought Safavid Dynasty, also Turkish like Ottoman Dynasty, but Ottoman Dynasty dont indicrimanate at struggle for Islam. Ottoman Janissaries hear his oration, and they follow Selim I s step.

At 23 August 1514 AD, Selim I destroy Safavid Army at Battle Of Chaldiran. Safavid Army use cavalry for attack Ottoman Army, but they defeated by Ottoman heavy artillery. Selim I forced Ismail, who injured, to escape from this battle.  At 1516 AD, Selim I attack Mameluke Dynasty that ruled Egypt, Syria, Palestine, and Hijaz. Selim I s expansion to Mameluke Dynasty because they conspirated with Safavid Dynasty for attack Ottoman State. At 1516 AD, Selim II defeat Mameluke Sultan,  Qanshu Al Ghawri,  at 1517 AD, Selim I defeat Qanshu s sucessor, Thoman Bay, at Battle Of Raidaniyya, Egypt. Ottoman Dynasty ruled Palestine, Syria, and Egypt, after captured it from Mameluke Dynasty.  Yemen and Hijaz, that before this is Mameluke s territories, joined Ottoman Dynasty. Ottoman Dynasty send several army to Hijaz for keep it from Portuguese Invation.

Ottomans Sailors  and Oman militia, can defeat Portuguese army in several battle at Arab Gulf.  Sultan Selim I also send expedition to  Mongols Khanate Of Crimea , because Mongols Khanate Of Crimea, one of Islamic Kingdom at East Europe, threatened by Empire Of Russia. Sultan Selim I  annexed Crimea,  and Sultan Selim I give 20.000 aqcha ( Turkish Money at the past) to Mengli Giray, leader Of Crimean Khanate, and send Mengli s son to Istanbul for get education from Ottoman Empire.

At 1520 AD, Sultan Selim I die, and he replaced by his son, Sulaiman Al-Qanuni, who conquer 3 continents for Ottoma Empire.
