I write this article because i hear several preacher at social media hated concept of nation state, they want Muslim in the world united in one state, named: Caliphate, in this article, we will discuss about nation state at the era of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, caliphate and sultanate at middle ages, and we will analyze, what the claim have proof at history, ok, let discuss it, read this article until end, and dont forget, subscribe my blog for more information about Islamic History.

Before it, we must undertand about concept of nation state, nation state is state that based sovereignty to one nation or ethnic group under one goverment. Ok, we will discuss age of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam , is at the era of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam only exist Islamic State Of Medina  that founded by Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam or exist other Islamic State when Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam still alive?

According Historian Tabari, at the era of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Yemen ruled by Persian Nobleman named Badhan, Badhan is representation from Sassanid Emperor at Yemen, when Badhan convert to Islam, Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam doesnt annexed Yemen to Medina Territories, and exactly, give Badhan freedomto next his goverment at Yemen, until Badhan die and he doesnt has successor, Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam appointed his shahaba to became his representation at Yemen, but according Ibn Ishaq,  before Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam s die, Yemen still lead by several kings from Kingdom Of Himyar, and they send messenger to Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam that they was convert to Islam and leave Paganism. Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam send several shahaba to Yemen for preaching, and doesnt annexed Yemen s territories, the mean, when Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam still alive, he permit exits other Islamic States in the out of Medina, same with modern era, we know at Middle East, exist  many Islamic-Nation States, such as Egypt, Palestine,  Saudi Arabia, and other.

At the era of Rasidhun Caliphate (632-661 AD) and Umayyad Caliphate (661-737 AD), Muslim united at the one states, but, at era of  Abbasid Caliphate ( 737-1258 AD), Islam split to several states, although all Islamic States claimed at Caliphate, Abbasid seize rule from Umayyad Dynasty, and they ruled Islamic States at Middle East, at 756 AD, one of Umayyad Prince, Abdurrahman ad-Dakhil, escaped from Abbasid Army and run to Spain that still ruled by several faction of Umayyad Dynasty, and he established Umayyad Caliphate Of Spain, at 909 AD, Said Ibn Husayn established Fathimid Dynasty at Tunisia, this not yet other Islamic States that became sultanate and not claim himself as caliphate, that appear when Abbasid suffered weakness, such as Seljuq Dynasty that ruled by Turkish Nation, and  Saman Dynasty that ruled by Persian Nation, Abbasid Era is Islamic Golden Age, and in this era, Muslims split into several nation states, Abbasid, Umayyad Of Spain, and Fathimid is Muslims Dynasty that ruled by Arabian Nation, Seljuq ruled by Turkish Nation, and Samanid ruled by Persian Nation, and what critics from scholars from this age for this situation?

The facts, scholars in Abbasid Era, busy take care problem of Islamic Knowledge, Imam Bukhari busy collect hadith for Muslim s guide in the side of Al-Quran Al-Karim, Islamic Scientists busy do research about science and technology, and they dont take issue with the appear several Islamic Political Power,they dont take issue, how united all of Islam territories at the one caliphate.

Lets we back to primary sources of Islamic teaching, Al Quran, in QS.Al-Hujurat: 13, Allah Subhanahuwataala said that he created human in the diverse tribes and nations for get to know each other, and Allah said at this verses, best man is who most cautious in the Allah s eye.

From this, we can take the lesson, spirit for the struggles without knowledge, not enough, so that, we must be critically person, dont receive all of Islamic Content from influencer without studied it from trusted source, because people that looked clever, not necessarily clever person, and be careful from people that utilize religion only for search popularity without knowledge.
