Uyghur: The Forgotten Ethnic.

Today, I will discuss about Uyghur Ethnic in China, really, primary source about Uyghur etnic is so small. But, know, majority from them stay at East Turkistan ( Hotan) . Hotan in the past is one of Mongols territory, Hotan recorded is  An Mongol territories under Ogedei Dynasty. Muslim traveler Ibn Bathutha write about Muslims in China when he visit this land and he say about Muslims in this area, that Muslims in China it is own community without Non-Muslims in their area. Ibn Bathuta visit this location when Mongols Era. He doesn’t mention about Uyghur Ethnics but maybe Chinese Muslims that he mention in his notes is Uyghurs Ethnics.

But, Ibn Bathuta write, in this time, 14 th century, broke rebellion againts Mongols Dynasty that lead by Firuz, Mongols Leader s cousin. Mongols Leader die at this revolution.

At 675-769 H, Mongols ruled Terrain Of China under their leader, Kubilai. Kubilai moved Mongols Capital from Karakorum to Beijing. Recorded, Muslims ruled 8 provinces from 12 provinces in China. One of Muslims Officer at China at Kubilai Era is Sayyid Ajjal Syamsuddin Umar.  He became Military Governor at city of Taiyuan and Pingyang. Next, he became an judge at City Of  Beijing.  He built several mosques and Islamic Schools at China, and in his age, Muslims in China have superiority position.

At 770 H, Ming Dynasty defeat Mongols Dynasty. But same with Mongols Dynasty, Ming Dynasty also respect to Muslims.

But, in Age Of Qing Dynasty, the government attempt to elliminate Muslim s influence.  At 1058 H,  Uyghur Muslims tried to rebel to Qing Dynasty, but Qing Dynasty succeded destroy this rebellion and slaughtered 5000 Muslims.  Happened several Uyghur s rebellion, unfortunately, Uyghur s Muslims also fight againt their brother because fiqh problem, this is utilized by Qing Dynasty for send troops to Muslims territory and slaughtered many Muslims.

Not much notes that we get about Uyghur. But according Islamic Research Team Of Egypt, they convert to Islam when Qutayba Ibn Muslim conquered East Turkestan at 96 H.

At 1329 H, Muslims Civilian supported founding of Chinese Republic. In Early Chinese Republic Era, Muslims founded many Islamic Institutions , including social institutions.

But, shortly, happened several riots in Uyghur territories. Because Chinese Government put cruel leader in Uyghur territories . At 1349 H, An Chinese Police rap Muslimah Woman, Uyghur Muslims rebels againts Chinese Government. At 1352 H,  they established  Muslims Republic Of Uyghur , but at 1353 H, State Of China and State Of Russia attack this state together and slaughtered many Muslims. They executed the president, prime minister, and all 0f cabinets. Thousand Of Muslims slaughtered.
