Hoax about history, appears in social media, such as Borobudur is Propeth Sulaiman Alaihissalam s palace,Atlantis, and other. 1.Identified the source.

If you hear new information about history, ask , from where the source? Source is important element of history, if we write history without source, same with write fictional narration, and we must choose, the source is strong or weak.

Sources split to 2 type, primary source and secondary source, primary source is source that written by historical actor, example, notes about Indonesia independence that written by eyewitness, this is strong source for historical writting. Secondary sources is sources that written after the event and the writter not historical eyewitness or historical actor, example, after 75 years old independence of Indonesia, exist writter that write about Proclamation Of Indonesia,  this is secondary sources, because the writter doesnt seeing the historical event.

2.Use primary sources as benchmark.

Better, you read primary and secondary sources,  if secondary source contradictive with primary sources, we must reject it, example, the primary source  such as Negarakretagama say that Majapahit established by Raden Wijaya, an nobleman from Kingdom Of Singhasari, but the secondary sources such as Babad Tanah Jawi say Majapahit established by Jaka Sesuruh,  an break out from Pajajaran,  the primary source also must comparated by several primary sources contemporaries,  from data comparation, we can choose, where data that supported by  strong facts and proof.

3. Dont read historical written from uncredible web.

If you search about history at internet,  make sure you search from credible web, if you see content at the web dont credible/  there is no without credible sources, dont make it as refrences, you maybe can search historical facts from the book, but, you also can search it from journal/ credible historical websites, try to open campus journals about history and  make it as refrence, because the journal from campus , big likehood to credible, because journal from the campus written by lecturer/ students  who pursue historical knowledge and do a research.

Important, be critical persons for historical facts that received from books, internet, and other.  Habit do check and recheck, and dont forget, sources comparation.
